Coping Strategies

Lose FamilyThe problem (eating issues etc) is NOT the problem.  It is a SYMPTOM of the problem.

So..... What is the Problem?

Among many survivors there are common themes of addictive and self-harming behaviours, as well as problems with intimacy and relationships.

Some of the presenting issues may be around:

  • Food
  • The use of Alcohol and/or Drugs
  • Obsessive Behaviours
  • Relationships and Sexual Intimacy
  • Parenting
  • Anger Management
  • Gambling

These are coping strategies that, for some, have become destructive behaviours and might therefore need to be acknowledged as part of the healing process as new and healthier ways of being are adopted.
